Go to www.liensnc.com website to engage a lien agent for your building project, if applicable. On the website, log in, enter requested information, select the lien agent for your project, follow payment instructions, print out form and bring into the Inspection Department to be attached to your application. This must be posted at site with permit.

The Inspection Department duties and responsibilities
Enforce within the county all state and local laws and local ordinances and regulations relating to: (1) the construction of buildings; (2) the installation of plumbing systems, electrical systems, heating systems, refrigeration systems, and air-conditioning systems; (3) the maintenance of buildings in a safe, sanitary, and healthful conditions; and (4) other matters that may be specified by the Board of Commissioners.
Fire Inspection Schedule
6 Months – Schools
1 Year – Hazardous, Institutional, High-Rise, Assembly, Residential
2 Year – Factory/Industrial, Educational (except Schools)
3 Year – Business, Mercantile, Storage, Churches, Synagogues
Polk County uses the 2006 International Fire Code with North Carolina Amendments.
