Everyone in Polk County Counts
PolkCounts 2020 encourages participation in the 2020 Census. The goal is that everyone who lives in our county is counted in the 2020 Census, which is mandated by the Constitution and takes place every 10 years.

Why do we care?
We care because an accurate count of all residents is critical for receiving our fair share of federal funds for essential programs that cover education, housing, health care, economic development, and transportation. These services and programs impact all of us throughout the county. An accurate census count strengthens political representation at the state and federal levels.
