Polk County Recreation is following suit and as a result, all of our spring sports seasons have been cancelled. Refunds will be given in the manner received: checks will be destroyed and credit card payments will be returned to your card. If you paid by cash, you can pick up your cash refund at Stearns on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; call when you arrive and we will walk out to your vehicle. Thank you for understanding. Please call if you have any questions. Stay safe and active...we can't wait until we can see everyone's smiling faces again!

Polk County Recreation offers Spring Baseball for boys and Softball for girls for children ages 4 through 12. Registration is from mid January to Mid February each year. If we do not have enough girls to field a full softball team, the girls are welcome to play baseball.

This year we will be offering a new league known as Weeball. This league is for children between the ages of three and four. If you have a child that is interested in playing please sign them up using our online registration portal or feel free to stop by the Polk County Recreation Department.

For baseball and softball, there are four different age groups:
6 & under (coach's pitch)
8 & under
10 & under
12 & under

Where and when will games be played?

For 2019, we will be playing in a league with Landrum, Inman and North Spartanburg County. Our home games will be played at the Polk County Recreation Complex. The majority of games will take place in Landrum or other areas of upper Spartanburg Co. Most games will be on weeknights. We anticipate games starting in late March.

What if I'm not sure of uniform sizing?

There are samples of the jersey, pants, and hats in all sizes at the Recreation Department; we strongly encourage you to bring your child when registering to ensure the correct size uniform. PLEASE make sure you have the correct size for your child before turning in your registration form.

Can my kid play both baseball and soccer at the same time?

Probably not, as the timeframe for both sports seasons largely overlap. About the only league it might be possible is the youngest age group as the soccer games for Wee Booters are all on Saturday and baseball games are on weeknights.

What is date for age cut offs?

May 1. The age the child is on May 1, 2020 determines which league they should play in for this season.
